Christine Amanda Beatty

Christine Amanda Beatty, age 33, of Dayton, PA, died Friday, June 1, 2012 at her residence.

She was born January 14, 1979 in Kittanning, PA, the daughter of Ronald Robert and Lorna Lee (Skursky) Smail.

Chris was raised in the Dayton area and continued to live there with her own children. Faith and family were an important part of her life; she was a member of the Plumville Presbyterian Church. Chris was a 1997 graduate of Lenape VoTech and graduated with honors in 2000 from Butler County Community College. An astute student, Chris won academic awards throughout her education including national recognition, named to the US Achievement Academy in 1992. She also participated in literacy programs to assist elementary school age children in their reading skills. Most recently Chris was employed with the Marion Center Bank in Marion Center as a bank teller. She loved her job at the bank and always greeted customers with a warm smile and friendly salutation. She also worked as an Avon representative.

All who knew Chris knew her children were her life. Their interests were her interests, as she played an active role in their activities, whether it was through church, school or other functions. Despite her allergies, they would often pick flowers together. Chris was a devoted mother and caring for Amanda and Sara brought her great joy. Her selfless and unconditional love for her children is an inspiration and her love for them is eternal.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her parents; maternal aunts, Karen Craven, of Vandergrift, Katheryne Doms and husband, Herman, of Worthington, and Nancy Skursky, of Vandergrift; maternal uncles, Michael Skursky and companion, Donna Bash, of Templeton, Kevin Skursky and wife, Fran, of Shelocta, and David Peltz, of Vandergrift; cousin, Velma Vensel, of Worthington; father-in-law, Lewis C. Beatty and Cindy Hornberger, of Mayport, PA; mother-in-law, Karen Beatty, of Home, PA; brother-in-law, David Beatty, of Home, PA; sisters-in-law, Linda Yale and husband, Earl John, Fayetteville, PA, Debbie Sullivan and husband, David, Seabeck, WA, Dayna Beer, of Penn Run; nieces and nephews, Corinne Yale, Guen Yale, Jasemine Sullivan, Jarrett Beatty, Alex Beatty, Maddix Beatty; and many other cousins and dear friends.

Chris was preceded in death by her daughters, Amanda Erin Beatty and Sara Kaylee Beatty; paternal grandparents, Robert and Iona Smail; maternal grandparents, Michael and Rae Skursky; paternal aunt, Michele Stone; and maternal aunt, Bonnie Daughterty.

Family and friends will be received from 11-2 PM on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Plumville Presbyterian Church, 168 Main Street, Plumville, PA where funeral services will be held at 2 PM with her minister, the Rev. Mark Gaskill officiating.

Burial will be in Gigal Cemetery, Marion Center, PA.
