Jeffrey Brian Rankin, Sr.

Jeffrey Brian Rankin, 59, of Rimersburg, PA, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at his residence.

He was born February 26, 1955 in Butler, PA, the son of James C. and Anne J. (Posey) Rankin.

Jeff was a resident of the Rimersburg area all of his life. He attended Clarion University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in communications. He previously worked as a truck driver for Davis Cookie and most recently worked in the stockroom at Walmart. Jeff had a passion for cars, and took great pleasure in rebuilding and restoring classic cars. Jeff was a strong advocate for Alcoholics Anonymous, often speaking at their meetings. He will be best remembered for always having a smile on his face, for being good with people and for having a wonderful sense of humor.

He will be missed by his sons, Jeffrey Rankin, Jr., of East Brady, and Keenan and Beau Rankin, both of Rimersburg; daughter, Shelby Rankin, of Rimersburg; brothers, James Rankin and wife, Marilyn, of Rimersburg, Dennis Rankin and wife, Judy, of Petrolia, and David Rankin, of Minneapolis, MN; and sisters, Mary Ann Wise and husband, Stanley, and Nancy Carmichael and husband, Alan, all of Rimersburg.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service celebrating Jeff's life will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 527 Main Street, Rimersburg, PA, with the Lay Speaker Brenda Haws officiating.
