Brian David Woodside

Brian David Woodside, 42, of Kittanning, PA, formerly of Sheffield, PA, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler surrounded by his family.

He was born April 23, 1972, in Kittanning, to O. King "Whitey" Woodside, Jr. and Mary Jane (White) Woodside.

Brian graduated from Elderton High School and then worked at Moonlight Mushrooms in Worthington. Most recently, he worked as a mechanic for United Refinery Company in Warren, PA, and belonged to the Sheffield VFW and Sheffield Rod and Gun Club. Brian loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking and canoeing. He was a fan of all sports - especially the Pirates and the Steelers - and had a large sports card collection. Brian was a Civil War enthusiast and went on many trips, many of which were to Gettysburg.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Jane Woodside, of Kittanning; brothers, Mark Woodside and wife, Carla, of Tionesta, and Steven Woodside and wife, Pam, of Kittanning; sisters, Sue Boarts and husband, Jim, of Ford City, Karen Myschisin and husband, Matt, of Russell, and Kaye Walker and husband, Harry, of Ford City; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Michael K. Woodside; paternal grandparents, King and Myrtle Woodside; and maternal grandparents, Russell and Mary White.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Friday, September 26, 2014 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Nick Wilson officiating.

Interment will be in Ford City Cemetery, Ford City, PA.
