Carroll W. Hooks

Carroll W. Hooks, 77, of Rimersburg, PA, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Clarion Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born June 29, 1937 in Tidal, PA, the son of William B. and Myrtle V. (Delacour) Hooks.

Carroll graduated from Redbank Valley High School in 1955 and married Lorilee Smith on October 26, 1957. He moved with his family to Rimersburg in 1959 and lived there the rest of his life. Carroll worked as a clerk for Penn Central Rail Road for 20 years until 1974 and then became the owner and operator of Hooks Service Center, running the business for 20 years.

He was a member of Baker Street Church of God. Carroll loved camping, golfing, traveling, biking, horseback riding and racing. A gifted musician, he played many instruments and was a member of numerous local bands. Above all, Carroll loved his family and cherished the times they were able to gather together.

He will be remembered with love by his mother, Myrtle V. Hooks and companion, Dalton Raraigh, of Tidal; wife of 57 years, Lorilee (Smith) Hooks; daughters, Lisa C. Schiebel and husband, Zane, of Butler, LeAnn R. Rankin and husband, Don, of New Bethlehem, and Lanette T. Cicciarelli and husband, Lance, of Rimersburg; grandchildren, Brittney, Brenden and Brianna Schiebel, Kendra Minnick, Karina Rankin, Kord Rankin, and Landon, Lanae and Lane Cicciarelli; and eight great-grandchildren.

Carroll was preceded in death by his father; son, Brett Alan Hooks, who died in 1973; granddaughter, Kessa Beckwith, who died in 2013; and brother, Chester D. Hooks, who died in 2001.

Relatives and friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main Street, Rimersburg.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Milliron and the Rev. John Phillips co-officiating.

Burial will be in Rimersburg Cemetery, Rimersburg, PA.
