Larry R. Elkin

Larry R. Elkin, 68, of Dayton, PA, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Grey's Colonial Acres.

He was born August 13, 1946 in Dayton, PA, the son of Russell T. and Ruth (Streams) Elkin.

Larry was a lifetime resident of Dayton and honorably served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at Clarion University for many years as an electronics technician, retiring in 2007. Larry was a member of Gilgal Presbyterian Church and loved farming.

His memory will be cherished by his brothers, Ronald D. Elkin and wife, Merry, of Seattle, WA, Roger H. Elkin, of Dayton, PA, and Lee R. Elkin and wife, Marsha, of North Point; nieces, Rebecca Coombs and husband, Drew, of Seattle, WA, Sarah Elkin, of Seattle, WA, and Rachel Zorn and husband, JB, of Fairfax, VA; great-nephews, James Coombs and Henry Zorn; and great-niece, Ava Coombs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Richard B. Elkin; and nephew, Daniel James Elkin.

Larry's family would like to thank everyone at Grey's Colonial Acres for the care and understanding they provided the last one-and-a-half years. Also, they want to thank Dwight and Sis Weaver for the unbelievable amount of assistance during Larry's entire illness. Furthermore, they would like to thank the entire Blose Family, who made Larry a part of their family.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, 125 East Main Street, Dayton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 16, 2013 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Art Seaman officiating.
