W. Dale Trudgen

W. Dale Trudgen, 87, of Kittanning, PA died Monday, August 31, 2015 at the Armstrong County Health Center.

He was born on November 28, 1927 in Kittanning to Carl G. and Clara M. (Claypoole) Trudgen.

Dale was a 1946 graduate of Kittanning High School and attended the First United Methodist Church of Kittanning. He was a self-employed contractor and was formerly a member of the Armstrong/Indiana Builders Association, where he once served as president. Dale enjoyed reading, traveling, going on cruises, reading the Bible and watching sports. He also had a wonderful sense of humor and loved making people laugh by telling jokes. Dale's true passion was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Grace (Grey) Trudgen, whom he married March 2, 1950; sons, Larry Trudgen and wife, Carol, of Kittanning, Rev. Terry Trudgen and wife, Judy, of South Fork, PA, and Daniel Trudgen and wife, Dancene, of Richfield, OH; daughter, Darlene Welsh and husband, David, of Sheffield, PA; grandchildren, Michael Trudgen, Brian Trudgen and wife, Tiffany, Jennifer Lichtenfels and husband, Chad, Cory Trudgen, Aaron Trudgen and wife, Jessica, Christopher Welsh and wife, Chrissy, Matthew Trudgen and wife, Emily, Kevin Welsh and wife, Gabrielle, Logan Trudgen, and Kayla Welsh; great-grandchildren, Alex Lichtenfels, Benjamin Trudgen, Cole Lichtenfels, Madison Trudgen, Zachary Trudgen, Austin Trudgen, Gabriel Lichtenfels and Parker Trudgen; and sister, Orvetta Trudgen, of Ford City

Dale was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Carl, Gerald, Ted, Richard and Robert Trudgen.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wade Berkey and his son, Rev. Terry Trudgen co-officiating.
