Buddy Ray Orr

Buddy Ray Orr, 64, of Indiana, PA, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at his residence.

He was born February 28, 1951, in Gallitzin, PA, the son of Marison K. and Josephine "Jo" I. (Kent) Orr.

Buddy graduated from Elderton High School in 1969 and lived in the area most of his life. He honorably served in the US Navy for four years during the Vietnam War. Throughout his life Buddy worked at many places, including McCreary Tire and Rubber and Eljer PlumbingWare of Ford City, and he recently retired from Diamond Medical in February. He served the Lord for 39 years at Grace Independent Baptist Church. Buddy loved the Lord and always tried to be helpful to all he came in contact with.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sidekick of 43 years, Carrie June (Fairman) Orr, whom he married October 2, 1971; children, Melanie Sue Orr, of Euless, TX, Anna Marie Harrelson and companion, Harold Johnston, of Creekside, Timothy Ray Orr and wife, Mandy, of Creekside, Joshua Evan Orr and wife, Jodi, of Homer City, Jessica Lynn Bouch and husband, Adam, of Indiana, PA, and Rachel Elizabeth Good and husband, Jason, of Dixonville; 10 grandsons, five granddaughters, four great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard "Mouse" Orr and wife, Mary, and William Orr and wife, Val; sisters, Linda Miller and husband, Mike, and Amy Tady and husband, Fred; sister-in-law, Lisa Garsick and husband, James; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law, James and Edna Fairman; sister-in-law, Cindy Brewer; and nephews, Aaron Garsick and Michael Pritt.

A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Grace Independent Baptist Church, 350 Main St., Shelocta, PA 15774, with Pastor Nicholas W. Kostella, Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in Elderton Cemetery, Elderton, Pennsylvania.
