Donald W. Minich, Jr.

Donald W. Minich, Jr., 74, of Sligo, PA, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016 at his residence.

He was born January 28, 1942 in Brookville, PA, the son of Donald W. Minich, Sr. and Mary C. (Himes) Minich.

Donald honorably served in the Medical Corps of the US Army and then worked for many years at the Owens Illinois Plastics Plant in Brookville before retiring in 2004. Looking for treasures at auctions and flea markets was one of his favorite hobbies and he also enjoyed watching wrestling on television. Donald loved attending picnics with family and friends, and especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren. He was always there for anyone who needed him and will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Jared Minich and companion, Lori King, of Sligo; daughter, Ronni Shick, of Sligo; grandchildren, Alexis, Hannah, Deeken, Neriah and Tylor; and brothers, Ted Minich and wife, Sally, of Hawthorne, John Minich, of Brockway, and Paul Minich, of New Bethlehem.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Beulah Minich Bell.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM until the time of the funeral service at 1 PM on Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home, 758 Main Street, Rimersburg, with the Rev. John A. Milliron officiating where military honors will be presented by American Legion Post 454 and VFW Post 7132.

Burial will be in Cedarview Memorial Park, Strattanville, Pennsylvania.
