Ronald L. Dunmire

Ronald L. Dunmire, 80, of Kittanning, PA, died Thursday, November 24, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Niagara, NY on September 10, 1936, to Lester H. and Lena F. (Bellas) Dunmire.

Ronald was a 1954 graduate of Kittanning High School. For over 40 years, he worked for the Alltel Company as a Cable Splicer, retiring in September 1997. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his good friends, Harold Altmire, Bob Knell, and Jerry Altmire.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 56 years, Gail (Marraccini) Dunmire whom he married January 2, 1960; three daughters, Kathy G. Dunmire-Smith and husband, Dale of Butler, Karen S. Gundrum of Harrisburg, and Sharon A. Parker and husband, Gary of Mineral Ridge, OH; five grandchildren, Kera Williamson and husband, Craig, Tiffany Gurish, Geoffrey Parker and wife, Kadie, Patrick Gundrum, and Sara Gundrum; two great-grandchildren, Trace and Lena Gurish; and three sisters, Ruth Gallaher of Kittanning, Patricia "Pat" Myers of Ford City, and Lucille "Tillie" Moore of Nicholasville, KY; loyal companion, his Sheltie "Maggie"; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronald "Ronnie" Charles Dunmire who died April 16, 2002; a great-grandchild, Jacob Steven Gurish; three brothers-in-law, Jim Gallaher, Abe Myers, and Bob Moore; and parents-in-law, P.C. and Betty Marraccini.

Relatives and friends may visit from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Monday, November 28, 2016, at the Bauer Funeral Home, 515 N McKean St., Kittanning, PA.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at the funeral home with the Pastor Mark Brady and Rev. John Snyder co-officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, PA.
