Betty L. Buff
Betty L. Buff, age 81, of Ford City, formerly of Kittanning, PA, died, Thursday, March 11, 2010, at the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.
She was born January 18, 1929, in E. Franklin Twp., Armstrong Co., PA to James and Sarah (Lemmon) Lemmon.
Mrs. Buff was a member of the First Church of God in Kittanning. Betty was a 1947 graduate of Kittanning High School and had worked as a supervisor in the domestics department for the former Jamesway Department Store for 18 years. She was a former member of the Order of the Amaranth, Kit-Han-Ne Court #126 and an active member of the Over the Hill Gang. Betty enjoyed craftwork, sewing, and traveling.
She is survived by her two daughters, Debby Bird and husband Dwight of Buffalo, NY, and Paula Bowser and husband John of Kittanning, PA; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, C. Joseph Buff whom she married July 21, 1947 and who died July 18, 1999; a daughter, Lynda Klukan who died April 3, 2007 and a son, C. Joseph Buff, Jr., who died February 23, 2009; brothers Paul, Roy and Sid Lemmon and sisters Alice (Paul) Watson and Ida Mae Bursic.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Sunday, March 14, 2010, at the Bauer Funeral Home, 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 15, 2010, at the Bauer Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Stan Schilffarth officiating.
Interment will follow at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, E. Franklin Twp., Armstrong Co., PA.
