Allan D. Myers, 74, of Clarion, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at UPMC Northwest with his daughters by his side.

He was born in Sligo, PA on August 28, 1939, the son of Evangeline (Myers) Barnett.

Allan lived in the Sligo area most of his life and graduated from Union Joint High School in 1957. He honorably served in the US Navy for two tours of duty as an airplane mechanic, and later worked for Anchor Motor Freight as a truck driver for over 15 years. Allan was a member of Providence United Methodist Church in Knox. Faith was paramount in his life and he always made time to read his bible. Allan also loved animals and listening to music. He was a country boy at heart and enjoyed visiting fairs to watch the truck and tractor pulls. Despite his many years of driving truck, he took great pleasure in scenic drives through the country to relax and appreciate God's creation. Allan's family and friends will remember his sense of humor, love for his daughters, and strong faith in the Lord.

He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Shelbi Wolbert and husband, Bill, of Clarion, Sheila Vasbinder and husband, Bob, of Rimersburg, Sharon Stewart, of Clarion, and Shannon Rearick and fiancé, Jerry, of Rimersburg; grandchildren, Cara, Carter and Curtis Shipley, Isaac and Nathan Vasbinder, Justin Stewart, Ryan Sharp, Zoe Shaffer, and Ted and Ben Rearick; and great-grandchildren, Avery and Vincent Shipley.

Allan was preceded in death by his mother.

At the family's request, visitation and funeral services will be private.

Burial will be in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery, Knox, Pennsylvania.
