Leonard L. Cribbs
Leonard L. Cribbs, 81, of Shelocta, PA, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Rose Haven Personal Care Home in Indiana, PA.He was born May 27, 1944, the son of L. Dale and Jewell (Johns) Cribbs.
Leonard's passion in life was farming. He was born and raised on a dairy farm outside of Indiana. In 1972, he and his wife, Charlotte Koch Cribbs, bought their own farm near Elderton, PA. Leonard raised and sold beef cattle, and later they enjoyed raising miniature horses.
Leonard and Charlotte also enjoyed shopping for antiques, especially glassware. After Charlotte passed, Leonard continued to collect glassware and became well known by local antique shop owners.
Farming wasn't Leonard's only occupation. He also worked as a full-time parts man for various auto dealerships. He began this career at Koch Pontiac, where he met his wife of 49 years, Charlotte Koch Cribbs.
He is survived by his daughters, Coleen E. Rupert and her husband, Dan, of Homer City, and Paula J. Cribbs of Kittanning; grandchildren, Tyler Rupert, Alec Vickers, and Lauren Vickers; brothers, Bill Cribbs and his wife, Maureen, of Indiana, and Chuck Cribbs of Indiana; and sisters, Kathy Wright and her fiancé, Jim King, of Homer City, and Mona Simpson of Clymer.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Charlotte, who passed October 23, 2016; his brother, Jim Cribbs; and his sister, Evelyn Bush.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Monday, April 6, 2026, at the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, 238 S. Main St., Elderton, PA.
Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the funeral home, with Rev. Joyce Dix-Weiers officiating.
Contributions may be made in Leonard's honor to the IRMC Cancer Center, 850 Hospital Road, Indiana, PA 15701.
