Edna A. Heigley

Edna A. Heigley, 97, of Kittanning, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026 at Quality Life Services - Sugarcreek.

She was born on Feb. 28, 1928 in Kittanning, PA the daughter of Eddie and Pheroby (Floyd) Crytzer.

Edna was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she previously taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed ceramics and tole painting, but above all, she found her greatest joy in caring for and helping her family. She was the one everyone could count on, always there when she was needed.

Her memory will be cherished by her daughter, Mary Margaret 'Peggy' McCafferty of Kittanning; son, William F. 'Bill' Heigley, Jr. of Strattonville; grandsons, William F. "Billy" Heigley, III and wife Julie of Kittanning and Christopher Todd Heigley and wife Amy of Walston; great grandchildren, Zachery Allan and Elizabeth Ann of Kittanning and Ryen Todd and Kaden Thomas of Walston; and her cat, Miss Kitty.

Edna is also survived by her sisters, Esther Mae Kiss and husband Frank of Sarver, Mary "Toni" Lue Beers of Dayton, and Judith Ann Umbaugh and husband Joseph of Kittanning; numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Linda (Heigley) Hutchinson, who lovingly cared for Edna through many health challenges as a nurse.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, William Fred "Bill" Heigley, Sr. whom she married on Nov. 13, 1947 and who passed away on Oct. 11, 2007; and siblings, William James "Bill" Crytzer and wife, Evelyn, Dora Jean Crytzer, Margaret Irene "Peg" Shick and husband, Kenneth, Eddie Crytzer Jr and wife Hazel, and Sara Jane Crytzer.

At Edna's request, services were held privately.

Her family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of ACMH and Quality Life Sugarcreek for their exceptional and compassionate care.

Interment is in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, PA.
