David A. Brockhoff
David A. Brockhoff, 86, a beloved husband, cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed on January 24, 2026, at Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville, PA.He was born on May 21, 1939, in Penn Hills, PA, to Charles H. and Ruth E. (Stephens) Brockhoff.
David, known as Dave to his friends, Pap to his cherished grandchildren, and Pappy Dave to his great-grandchildren, was a man of many talents and interests. Throughout his life, Dave enjoyed collecting and building train displays, raising and showing quarter horses, cleaning his cars, trailers, and horse harnesses, attending county fairs, and spending time with those he loved. Some of his fondest memories with his family are camping at Uncle Bill's and travelling in the motorhome to Florida. One of Dave's greatest talents was his work. He was a jack of all trades, but a master of floors and painting. He owned and operated Brockhoff Wood Floors from 1962 until his retirement in 2012. Up until his retirement, his son, Dale Brockhoff, worked alongside him and eventually took over the family business.
Dave will be remembered for his infectious smile, laughter, imaginative storytelling, lottery "winning," fondness for seafood, and his love of his farms and family.
His memory will be deeply cherished by his beloved wife of 69 ½ years, Eleanor L. (Brooke) Brockhoff, whom he married on June 4, 1956. In addition, he leaves a legacy through his children, Beverly (Michael) Glentzer of Dayton, PA, Barbara (Dwight) Locke of Plum, PA, Dennis Brockhoff of Naples, FL, and Dale (Tracie) Brockhoff of Belknap, PA. He is survived by his grandchildren, Kellee (Tony) Frattaroli, Tiffany (Jeremiah) George, Brooke (Dennis) Anderson, Michael Glentzer, Jessica Brockhoff, Jason (Stephanie) Brockhoff, Denny Brockhoff, Samantha Locke, and Sarah Brockhoff. He will be missed by his great-grandchildren, Katelyn Frattaroli, Makenna Anderson, Taylor George, Grant Frattaroli, Madison George, Logan Anderson, McKailee Romano, Daxtyn Romano, Chloe Brockhoff, Molly Brockhoff, and Lillianna Brockhoff.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth, his brothers Charles and William Brockhoff, and his sister Janet Helsley.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, Inc., located at 125 East Main St., Dayton, PA, 16222.
Additional visitation will be from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the funeral home, with Pastor Sheila Wadding officiating.
Interment will be at Brockwood Farm, located at 180 State Route 1025, Dayton, PA, 16222.
In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Dayton Fire Hall located at 204 S Poplar St, Dayton, PA 16222.
